Suzanne Prevost is a professor and dean nursing at the University of Alabama, a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), and a past president of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI).  Dr. Prevost served as editor of Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America from 1999–2007; and then assumed editorship of Nursing Clinics of North America, from 2007–2012. She is a certified trainer with the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC); and she led a team of experts in writing the palliative care segment of the IOM Report on the Future of Nursing.  During her STTI presidency, she led the board in crafting a new mission, vision, and strategic plan; STTI opened a satellite office in South Africa; and STTI became a member of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Dr. Prevost received her RN Diploma and BSN in Pennsylvania, her MSN at the Medical University of South Carolina, and her PhD at Texas Woman’s University.  She completed a Hartford Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Arkansas and the Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive Fellowship. In 2015, she was recognized as one of the 30 Most Influential Nursing Deans in the U.S.
