Sandra F. Ryan, M.S.N., CPNP, FCPP, FAANP, FAAN.  Sandy Ryan is a visionary leader with over 25 years of healthcare and leadership experience in various clinical, management and leadership settings. She is a nationally certified nurse practitioner and a highly decorated stellar Air Force leader. Ryan has been recognized as a driving force within the US military health system and the Convenient Care Industry towards a more customer-driven environment.  Sandy is currently Chief Clinical Officer of CareCam Health Systems where she is resonsible for all clinical aspects in the development and design of a systems platforms to meet the needs of patient, providers, healthcare systems and partners to drive decreased healthcare costs, patient engagement and improved clinical outcomes.  Previously, Sandy was Chief Nurse Practitioner Officer for Take Care Health Systems, Walgreens overseeing clinical and business operations for 400 in-store clinics located in select Walgreens stores nationally.  Sandy worked closely with Walgreens chief medical officer in areas such as clinical governance clinical research and quality initiatives.  One of six founding officers of Take Care Health Systems, and a founding board member of the Convenient Care Association, Sandy is the first Chief Nurse Practitioner Officer in the Convenient Care Industry. She has paved the way for nursing leadership in this new model of healthcare through her advocacy of  clinical standards, evidenced based guidelines and quality care that is delivered in Convenient Care Clinics. Within Take Care Health, she has implemented a company-wide quality assurance program, ensuring consistency in quality care through the establishment of standard operating procedures using nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines and leading the development of a proprietary EMR using her clinical expertise. As the Chair of the Clinical Advisory Board of the Convenient Care Association, she was instrumental in the development and implementation of  the CCA's Ten Quality and Safety Standards for the Convenient Care Industry and has implemented a third-party certification process for the industry. As the Chair of the Provider Task Force, to ensure quality educational offerings for Convenient Care Providers within the Industry she orchestrated the first ever Retail Congress Conference to address the educational needs of providers in this industry and to foster camaraderie and support for this new model of healthcare. As Chief NP Officer, Sandy was responsible for the leadership of over 1500 NP's in over 20 states and collaborates with local and national nursing organizations and NP leadership to advance the nursing profession and the NP role.  The American College of Nurse Practitioners awarded Sandy their highest award, the 2007 Nancy Sharp Cutting Edge Award, in recognition of her years of outstanding service to increase the visibility of Nurse Practitioners and to enhance the lives of patients. Sandy was also recognized by the Convenient Care Industry and was the recipient of Retail Clinician Congress CARE Leadership Award 2008, 2010. First NP inducted as a fellow to the College of Physicians of Philadelphia 2011. Ryan earned a B.S.N. in Nursing from Niagara University, a M.S.N. from Arizona State University and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Sandy is an Executive Board Member for the American Nurse Praactitioner Foundation and Generation NP and is  a board member for Education Plus. Sandy was recently awarded the Loretta Ford Lifetime Achievement Award by the Convenient Care Association for her significant contributions to the Retail Industry 2014.
