Debbie Green, RN, DNP, CENP, is President, Cone Health Behavioral Health and Annie Penn Hospital. With over 37 years of experience in healthcare, she has served in a variety of clinical specialties and roles, including bedside clinician, nurse manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Director of Nursing Practice, Education and Research; Director of Nursing, and Vice President of Nursing. In her current role, Dr. Green has achieved national recognition for employee engagement, physician satisfaction, and patient satisfaction, and was a speaker at the 2012 National Press Ganey Conference. Through her focus on evidence based practice, she has achieved excellence in quality improvement, to include top decile performance in core measures, and sustained eliminations of hospital acquired infections and "never" events. Dr. Green maintains certifications in Relationship Based Care, FEMA Healthcare Leadership and Decision Making, Project Management, Six Sigma, and Case Western Reserve University Certification in Implementing Best Nursing Practices. Dr. Green is very involved in her community, participating in the General Federation of Women's Club, Rotary, Coalition to End Homelessness, Healthy Carolinians Access to Healthcare Committee, Red Cross, and Mental Health Community Advisory Board. She is the past President of the University of North Carolina Greensboro Nursing Alumni Association, and received the 2014 distinguished alumni award. A 2011 graduate of the University of Alabama, Dr. Green achieved a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and completed research on The Impact of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Candidate Implementing the Nursing Improving Care of Health System Elders (NICHE) program. A 2001 graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro nurse practitioner program, Dr. Green enjoys volunteering in the community with under served populations. She achieved her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 1992 from the University of Virginia, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1987 from West Virginia University. Dr. Green was awarded the 2008 Nursing Spectrum Excellence Award in Management , was a North Carolina Great 100 recipient in 2010, and selected as Most Influential in the Triad in 2014.
